I am a Child of God

This week has been such a fun week!
On Tuesday we went to Papa's office for a picnic and then to the park with her cousin. She had a blast as always!
Addie is really becoming obsessed with babies the past little while. She wants to snuggle her new cousin Amelia every chance she can...maybe a bit too much. And she loves to carry her baby dolls around the house, push them in the stroller and feed them. She also talks about the baby in her tummy all the time. Tonight she made me "feel" her baby in her tummy. It is really funny, and I love that she is getting excited for baby sister too come.
Here is her today in her "Let it go" skirt, as she calls it, for a Frozen themed Gymnastics class. She had a BLAST, and had to sing the whole class. It was so fun.

"I am a child of God" has recently become one of her favorite songs, and she has been singing it all day. It is just precious and I may have shed a tear or two hearing her sing "I a child of God" over and over today, but we'll blame it on my pregnancy emotions.
I hope she can continue to learn and understand who she is, "a child of God" and that she always knows how much she is loved. She really is such a joy and light in our lives. Though her spirited, wild ways sometimes drive me nuts, and I feel like I can't even shower recently without huge destruction happening, I cannot imagine not having my Addie Ruth.

Spirited Toddlers

Today has been one of those days!
We started off the morning with a very naughty toddler who not only colored on the TV, but dumped baby powder all over her bedroom floor, emptied EVERY book off her bookshelf, took off her diaper and peed on the carpet (she said she was a dog), and then finished off with a 30 min tantrum because I wouldn't let her drink the ketchup, yes ketchup.
We then decided that maybe we just needed to get out of the house and away from the temptation to destroy everything she touched.
She only ran away from me 3 times in Target, (totally get why people leash their wild children, I'm SO close to buying one) before I decided popcorn might help a busy toddler sit still in the cart. It did, but we may or may not have left a trial of popcorn through the whole store. I'm over it

She just went down for a early nap, because let's face it, we both need it. I was flipping through my phone trying to remind myself why I do this...and why I'm starting all over again with another one.
And then I remembered
It's for sweet moments like this...
And this...
When she says "Mommy I hold you!" or "sing the baby song and rock a Addie"
It's for those moments, though sometimes they may seem few and far between, that I know she really does love me and need me. And her wild, spirited toddler ways are not meant solely to drive me crazy!
So I'm just going to pretend this morning didn't happen and be happy with my sweet, spirited little toddler, my life as her Mommy, and the future life with another one soon.

Drum roll please!

Drumroll Please.....
We are having a Baby Girl!
That's right, this baby has not stopped surprising us! (I thought for sure it was a boy!)
But are so excited to have two girls come December!
And you can see by the look on Addie's face that she is SO glad to be getting a sister for Christmas!
She kept saying "a Sister for Me! Yay!"
Here's the sister herself, waving to everyone!
Can't wait to welcome home Baby Sister soon!

Sunday Afternoon

We had such a lazy, fun Sunday afternoon. Addie took a nice long nap then she headed outside to swim.
Keith cooked on the BBQ so she had a blast swimming next to him....
I'm convinced that being naked  is the only way to go when your two and its 100 degrees outside, not to mention trying to potty train as well.
It was hard to find any pictures to post because she was too naked!
She kept saying the funniest things at dinner. When he finished eating Keith patted his belly and said "my tummy is so full" and she said "Daddy's baby in there!" So funny!
Or when she got home from church we asked her what she learned in nursery and she said, "No hitting!" Well at least she remembered something useful!
Eating some "Mato" (tomato) straight from the vine, just the way-the only way she likes them!

We then headed to the temple for a walk. She had been asking ALL day to go to the temple and had taken to calling it "Papa's Temple". So cute.
She had a blast walking around there.

She kept saying "Anybody home? Anybody in there?"

We had such a relaxing family evening. I love Sunday Afternoon's with my cute family!

End of June Happenings

June went by so fast! I cannot believe that in just over 5 months we will be bringing a baby home from the hospital!
We have been keeping busy and trying to keep cool in this heat.
We finally figured out how to help Addie sleep without her pacifier, (lullaby music) which is helping us all sleep better! I am so grateful to be done with the pacifier well before the baby comes.

Addie went to her first birthday party this week as well.
Her friend Riley had a Pirate fairy party and Addie loved it!

She has been talking nonstop lately. She really wants her thoughts heard. I caught this video the other evening at dinner. I just loved how she topic hops the whole time, and her facial expressions. I love her!

4th of July Festivities

4th of July is definitely my favorite holiday. I love the colors and the celebrations of this day. I'm pretty  sure Addie had 3 outfits to pick from for the day because I love it so much...and little girls clothes are so darling!
We started the day at my Grandparents ward pancake breakfast. Addie ate a ton of food and looked so precious in her 4th outfit and hat!

My cute little family!

Grandma with the grand-babies (which will double by this time next year!)
Addie and cousin Austin just had a blast running around the grass.
And Addie really, really wanted Austin to wear her headband.  I just love how terrified he looks in this photo!
They had a parade for the kids, so we decorated the baby's double stroller and took them. They had a blast!
 blowing bubbles

We finished the night off with a BBQ at Grandpa Dickson's and then fireworks at my parents. It was a awesome 4th of July!
