I'm lucky to have a husband who knows how to calm my fears and make it better. This afternoon I ran across a quote I work in one of my conference journals a while back. It read, "Fear not, be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith." Its from President Monson's talk in May 2009 titled "Be of Good Cheer".
After looking up and reading the talk I was filled with hope. Life as a couple of poor college kids is scary and it feels like this time in our lives is never going to end, and sometimes you feel like the funds that you've tired hard to save up are being stretched further to things you didn't plan...
But despite all of this there are so many good things in my life. I have an amazing family who encourages us and lets us know that we are making good choices. I have an amazing spouse who sticks with me through every step. I live in a beautiful home and get to go to a wonderful school. I'm on the brink of finishing my education, an opportunity that a lot of people don't ever have.
And on top of all that, I have such a bright future filled with so many more opportunities and joy and I can't wait!
So instead of focusing on the things going wrong in life I can focus on the good as well as what the joy tomorrow will bring. I can live by this, "Be of good cheer, the future is as bright as your faith!"

I totally agree with you that life as a college student is rough sometimes!
ReplyDeleteYou saying how you are focusing on the good in your life reminds me of another quote from President Monson in his talk How Firm a Foundation. He is quoting James Barrie who says, "God gave us memories, that we might have June roses in the December of our lives."
I completely believe that! Keep up the positive outlook! You are awesome, and you and your hubby are so cute!
