In my family we have a tradition where every Veterans/Memorial day we go see the flags and the Cemetery. I had to work that whole day but my mom took Addie.
I love these pictures she took.
I want Addie to learn to remember her family from the past. The ones that paved the way for her to have the life we have today.
Yesterday I took her back to this cemetery to visit her Great Great Grandma Ruth's grave, the one she is named after. She seemed to realize how peaceful and respectful the place was. She stood next to me and I said this was Grandma Ruby's grave and I miss her. Then when we left I said say Goodbye, and she said "Bye, Bye Bye" just like Grandma Ruby did, and blew a kiss.
She fits that middle name perfectly. I can't believe how alike she is to her Great Great Grandma. I think maybe its because she got to meet her before she came to me.
Either way it is such a bittersweet joy to see her smile, or twiddle her thumbs, and sing "Bye, Bye" just like her Grandma Ruth.
I can't wait as she grows to continue to teach her the importance of remembering the loved ones from the past.
I love my perfect Adelyn Ruth Adair.

What a great tradition! She is getting so big! So cute! :)
